Nicholas Blackie Obituary

Nicholas W. Blackie, age 38, of Altoona, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his residence. He was born October 21, 1982 in Altoona, the son of Robert M. "Bob"  and Gretchen S. (Pfeffer) Blackie.

He is survived by his parents of Altoona; his 4 children, whom he adored: Layden, Shyla, Adalynn and Zoeann Blackie; a loving sister, Miranda Blackie; a niece Aryanna Weakland; 2 nephews: Dylan Weakland and Mason Young; Layden's mother: Amanda Moschgat; Shyla, Adalynn and Zoeann's mother: Lena Chura; and many friends.

Nick was a graduate of Altoona High School. He worked as a landscaper for several businesses.

He was a member of the Buccinese Society in Altoona.

Nick enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and son and his best friend, playing guitar and drums, playing sports, and watching sporting events. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 6, 2021, officiated by Pastor Terry Farr, at New Life Community Church (621 Bell Ave., Altoona, PA 16602). Friends will be received from 10am until 11am, prior to services, at the church.
