Joseph Harry Keller, age 73, of Hollidaysburg, died Friday evening, October 2, 2020, at the James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona, following an extended illness. He was born April 6, 1947 in Altoona, son of the late Harry J. and Frances (Colbert) Keller. He married Mae A. Unkart on Feb. 16, 1980 in Hollidaysburg.
Survived by his wife, Mae; a son, Brian Keller; a daughter, Christina Feather; step-sons: Stephen and Jason Hartsock; 7 grandchildren: Zachary Musselman, Austin Feather, Briana and Elijah Keller, Hailey Hatch, and Jason and Alana Hartsock; two great-grandchildren: Phoenix and Zeighlyn; and a sister Helen Taylor.
Joseph was a 1965 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a US Marine Corp veteran, serving during Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of DAV. He retired from Norfolk Southern.
Joe was very athletic and loved karate, where he earned his 3rd degree black belt. He enjoyed fishing. He was a very positive Christian man.
Friends will be received on Tues., Oct. 6, 2020 from 5-8pm and on Wed., Oct. 7 from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Pastor James West, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment, with military honors accorded by Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
