Daniel A. Dunkle, age 81, of Hollidaysburg, formerly a long-time resident of West Chester, died Friday, August 19, 2022 at Meyersdale Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Meyersdale, following an extended illness. He was born June 10, 1941 in Duncansville, a son of the late J. Frank and Vera Jane (Shreckengast) Dunkle. He married A. Kay McKee on June 17, 1967 in Indiana.
Surviving are his wife, Kay Dunkle of Hollidaysburg; a son, Jonathan M. Dunkle (Kathy) of Christiana; a daughter, Kimberly K. Brandenburg (Charles) of Wellsboro; two grandsons: Carlton A. Dunkle of Athens, GA and Galen K. Dunkle of Sarasota, FL; two granddaughters: Emma S. and Chloe K. Brandenburg, both of Wellsboro; a brother, Samuel J. Dunkle (Wanda) of Duncansville; a nephew, Samuel M. Dunkle (Cindy) of Hollidaysburg; and a great-nephew, Joshua F. Dunkle of Hollidaysburg.
Daniel was a 1959 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserves. He retired from General Water Works Corp.
Daniel was a member of the Hollidaysburg Lodge #220 F&AM.
He enjoyed gardening and making flower arrangements, especially for the holidays.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville, and from 10am until the 11am funeral service at Hick’s United Methodist Church, Duncansville, on Tuesday, August 23. The Rev. Rich Morris will officiate. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
