Charles E. “Bill” Fleck, age 90, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Duncansville, died Saturday morning, January 15, 2022, with his daughter by his side. He was born February 23, 1931 in Altoona, a son of the late Charles R. and Kathryn C. (Kelly) Fleck. He married Jane M. Robeson on Sept. 13, 1958. She preceded him in death on July 16, 2018.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia L. (John) Gallagher of Carlisle; a daughter in law, Susan Fleck of Wampum; 6 grandchildren: Colin, Grace, and Daniel Gallagher, and John, Maria, and Matthew Fleck; two sisters: Joann Fleck of Malverne and Donna Burget of Mercersburg; a brother, Brian (Beverly) Fleck of Duncansville; and a sister-in-law, Annetta Fleck of Duncansville.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by a son, William John Fleck, and a brother, Philip Fleck.
Bill was a 1948 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, attended the Altoona School of Commerce, and was a US Army veteran. He retired from Young, Oaks & Brown and Company after 36 years.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Duncansville.
Bill was an avid Penn State fan, having spent many years as a football season ticket holder. He also was a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan (although it was frustrating at times). Bill was very civic minded, having been a volunteer firefighter and long-time member of the Duncansville Water Authority.
A viewing will be held from 10-11:30am on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. A Mass at Noon will follow at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
