Albert John Platon Jr

Albert John Platon, Jr., age 86, of Duncansville, went to Heaven on Thursday evening, September 3, 2020. He was born October 22, 1933, the son of the late Albert J., Sr. and Sylvia (Gartland) Platon. He married the love of his life, Marjorie Heidler, on July 5, 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Platon; children: Allen Platon (Sandy) of Virginia, Jamie Platon (Lisa) of Claysburg, Penny Platon of Duncansville, Amy Jo Ferguson (Greg) of Bedford, and Rodney Bollman (Barb) of Etter; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Paul Johnson.

Mr. Platon was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Verizon after 42 years of service. He loved NASCAR and his old and new cars. He had a passion for removing all their emblems.

There will be no viewing. A grave side service, officiated by Rev. Paul Johnson, will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
