Martha J (Miller) Smith

Martha J. Smith, age 91, a resident of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Eldorado, Altoona, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at the home. She was born January 7, 1928 in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Milton and Margaret J. (Eberhart) Miller. She married Jack Richard Smith on July 8, 1953. He preceded her in death on Apr. 15, 1989.

Survived by two sons: Barry L. (Barb) and Gary L. (Theresa) all of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren: Shane and Barry Smith, Jr. and Jackie Treon (Dalton); a brother Donald Miller of Delaware; and a sister Thelma McConnell of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Marie Bender, Grace Cunningham and Deloris McConnell and 6 brothers: Milton, Jr., Gerald, Harry, Richard, Robert and Glenn Miller.

Martha was a 1947 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She previously worked at Butterick and Saf-T-Bak.

Friends will be received on Mon., Aug. 26, 2019 from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Pastor Rich Morris, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
