Margaret M. Charlesworth, age 97, of Duncansville, died early Friday morning, October 25, 2019, at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born June 30, 1922 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie (Campbell) Yingling. She married Harry O. Charlesworth on May 14, 1948 at Hick’s United Methodist Church, Duncansville.
Survived by her husband of 71 years, Harry Charlesworth; a son David Charlesworth (Fayleen); a daughter Jan Grinder (John); 6 grandchildren: Rachel Wisniewski, Gregory Muri, Aaron Charlesworth, Erica Ohara, Sean Charlesworth and Alaina Gelineau; and 10 great-grandchildren: Savannah and Morgan Wisniewski, Maddie and Joshua Charlesworth, Jack and Bodhi Gelineau, and Tristan, Rory, Devin and Lyla Ohara. She is also survived by a niece Darlene Culp and family and a nephew Ronald VonDreau and family.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Chamberlain and Jayne VonDreau and a brother Thomas Yingling.
Marge was a 1940 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired as an LPN from Altoona Hospital in 1984. She was a member of Hick’s United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the women’s group and was a member of the Grace Koon Sunday School Class.
She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 2-4pm on Tues., Oct. 29, 2019, followed by a funeral service a 4pm, officiated by Rev. Rich Morris, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
