Donald Glen Bowser, age 81, of Altoona, died Friday morning, November 16, 2018, at his residence, after an extended illness. He was born in Lakemont, a son of the late James Ray and Ethel (Boose) Bowser. He married Peggy Jean Anderson on Sept. 21, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester, Va., by Rev. Wm. Eisenberg.
Survived by his wife, Peggy; a sister-in-law Sandra Clossin; a sister and brother-in-law Paul and Patricia Alley; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother Gene Bowser; a sister Eileen Rennow and her husband Charles; in-laws: James R. and Agnes M. Anderson; and a brother-in-law Albert Clossin.
Donald was a former owner of the Brunswick Hotel, Forest Zoo, Animal Safari and Fantasy Forest. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed the used car business for many years.
Friends will be received on Mon., Nov. 19, 2018 from 10am until Noon, immediately followed by a funeral service at Noon, officiated by Rev. Rich Morris, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
